1 to 1 health coaching programme

We offer coaching programmes for those who are looking for a fully personalised approach that meets their specific health goals.

What does this include?

Twelve 50 minute sessions, usually spread over six months. This is because learning about, implementing and sustaining change takes time. All sessions are currently conducted online.

 

Programme details


Health History session to fully understand your background health and current health and wellbeing goals

  • Supporting you with your health and wellbeing goals and to stay accountable

  • Health education around principles of holistic health

  • Providing you with a range of  health and wellbeing tools. Depending on what your health goal priorities are these could help with: digestion, heart health, blood sugar control, reduce allergies, lose weight, enhance immunity, reducing the damaging effects of stress and improving mood, energy levels and overall fitness.  

  • Helping you to identify and address any lifestyle issues that may be affecting your health.

  • Provide and recommend health and wellbeing learning resources

After these 12 sessions you will have a road map to better health and wellbeing and the tools to make the journey.

If you have any existing health conditions, it is important to appreciate that a health coach works to complement any treatment you are receiving from your doctor.

Small group diabetes health coaching programme

We offer small group coaching circles for those with or at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes . This programme provides advice and support around nutrition, fitness, stress management and motivation. This consists of 8 weekly sessions followed by 1 to 1 health coaching support.

 

Programme details


  • Health education on the importance of wholefoods

  • Support to choose the dietary options best suited to your personal circumstances

  • · Healthy cooking and healthy shopping advice

  • ·Advice of losing weight without having to diet

  • Identifying lifestyle changes that will help improve health

  • A review of personal fitness and fitness plan

  • · Motivational support

  • Knowing and understanding your clinical numbers e.g. blood sugar cholesterol

After a core eight week programme you will receive a fortnightly  mentoring call every two weeks for the following four months to support you on your journey to achieve your health goals.

This is run as a group programme as many people find the mutual support provided by the  other participants to be both motivating and enjoyable.

Health education workshops

UTC offers a variety of health education lectures and workshops to educational, business and community groups.

 

Topics included


  • An introduction to lifestyle and dietary changes to help you avoid and recover from Type 2 Diabetes

  • 5 reasons for weight gain and 3 suggestions for losing weight without dieting

  • Ways to keep your brain healthy

  • Whole foods & home cooking and your family’s health

  • What we can learn from the world’s longest lived communities

  • You, your lifestyle, stress, spirituality and your health

These interactive workshops are currently held on-line and typically last for around 90 minutes. and are provided to up to a maximum of 15 participants.

UTC undertakes community based qualitative research on a variety of health and wellbeing. issues. Previous research conducted by UTC staff includes childhood obesity, GP Health and Wellbeing Prescribing
